Lift with spindle drive successfully modernized

14. November 2013

INTEC GmbH’s goal has always been to be able to replace complicated and unusual lift controllers with their own controls. This has been proven many times in the past.

Now the controller of alift with spindle drive has been successfully replaced. Especially in the 80s and 90s, a number of lifts of this type were built in Germany; mostly together with a Spanish lift controller.

By a spindle drive, the car “screws itself” up and down on the stationary spindle using 1 to 2 motors attached to the car. Speeds of up to 0.5 m/s and travelling heights of up to 25 m are possible.

For emergency rescue, there is also a small DC motor on the spindle. In case of power failure or lift controller faults this motor is operated by battery and by this the spindle is rotated and the car is moved downwards.

A major difficulty in replacing the control system was (as is often the case with foreign manufacturers) that there are almost no documents of the old control system.

As already proven in the past with many other old lift controllers, this modernisation was mastered by the competent technicians of INTEC GmbH.

Now an inexpensive modernisation solution is available for other spindle driven lifts that are still in operation.
